purpose
"Working in photography, painting, and mixed media, I create immersive installations that examine the relationship between the body, identity, and transformation, often drawing from deeply personal narratives, morals, ethics, and civic obligations. My unfolding projects continue to explore the liminal space between who we are and who we want to be. My work frequently centers the inner world, offering space for individuals to challenge conventional narratives centering community, roles, and responsibilities.
In my Portsmouth, Virginia studio I am granted the freedom of expression and the ability to bring cognition into reality. As an artist with aphantasia I am deeply inspired by symbolism, culture, history, art, music, and immersion. Drawing from stories and experiences from my own life I create art as a bridge to connect with others and share the lessons I’ve learned. My art is an invitation to come back to your body and embrace the connection with your inner world."
